MAKEWAVES is back in the flume!

Our team is excited to be back in the tsunami wave simulator in HR Wallingford and continue our tsunami engineering research! Our novel pneumatic tsunami wave generator is nearly ready to generate the first tsunami waves down the 100-meter flume. We have a series of ground-breaking experiments lined up to investigate how tsunamis can impact our coastlines and cities and what engineers can do to mitigate their impact. First up will be tsunami runup experiments using a previously untested bathymetry slope angles, stay tuned!

Some familiar faces are back from EPICentre's Urbanwaves project, including Tiziana Rossetto, David McGovern and Keith Adams, together with new faces contributing their experience, Eugeny Buldakov, and a new generation of tsunami researchers, Jonas Cels, Ivo van Balen and Harikesan Baskaran. You'll meet more of our international and multidisciplinary team in the weeks to come.
